Illegal Movers Hire Sex Offenders And Criminals

When you hire illegal rogue movers you are not only taking a risk of being scammed, but you are also letting known sex offenders and convicted criminals know where you live.
Illegal movers (also called “rogue movers”) often hire the cheapest labor they can find. Many of these labors are sex offenders and criminals. And we are not talking about minor offenses either people; we are talking major felonies.
Recently a state agency did a sting of movers and what they found was appalling. Here is what they found:
[M]any of the subjects who posed as movers had felony convictions. Some of the crimes were Rape I, Robbery II, Assault IV, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, and drug charges. Two were registered sex offenders.
You may not be aware of these little things, but you cannot trust the workers of illegal movers. These people have already demonstrated a lack of morals and ethics, so what is preventing them from stealing from you? Are you moving with young children?
…You may want to re-think hiring those low-baller illegal rogue movers.
Here in Michigan I have reported several moving companies that may not be your first option to hire. These guys have all proven (to me) that they are lawless, and in my research I have found some horrifying facts…
Greater Michigan Movers: The owner Mike has a criminal record. Last year the police raided his home and confiscated his computer because it was filled with child porn.
AAfordable Movers: They are also pimps. Google their phone number and you’ll find several listings for hookers that they placed on Craigslist and Backpage. They call themselves “Angel’s Angels”.
A Better Move: A good portion of their labor force are criminals. It has been reported that they even had hire one individual that was on a tether (ankle bracelet.)
And this is just starting to scratch the surface.
There is tons of dirt I could shovel at you, but I believe you get the picture.
So what you need to do is hire legitimate moving companies. Licensed and insured companies have to put their work force through background checks. Of course that doesn’t mean it is full-proof but you are better served and can rest easier knowing that you are getting the best.
I wrote this not to scare you, but to inform you. Now that you know the truth you can avoid these illegal movers and have a stress free move.

Moving Company Reviews
Company: AAffordable Movers/Budget Moving Moving Company
Grade: F
City: East Lansing/Lansing MI
UPDATE: Affordable Movers are trying to get rid of their poor image as losers and pimps. The have now started calling themselves “Budget Moving Moving Company” and per their new ad say that they don’t hire drunks, drug users, etc. However, they still use the same phone number that they use to conduct their illegal prostitution ring from. So how much have they changed really? Well for them they think they can change just by changing their name. I’m waiting to see if they have seen the light or not…
UPDATE:So here is a review that I found for this company. I found this on Google. Make up your own mind.
THESE GUYS ARE RUDE, LAZY AND DON’… – Jonathan

On Monday, I made an appointment for these guys to show up at my apartment – I WAS RELYING ON THEM TO DO THEIR JOB AND THEY DIDN’T SHOW UP!!! The OWNER himself booked my appointment and suggested that he show up at 1pm on the following Sunday. The Clock struck 1pm on Sunday; I waited… 1:15, then I waited some more. At 1:30, I called to see where they were – and they told me that they would be late… I asked for a ballpark estimated time of arrival, AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN’T HAVE ONE! WHEN I ASKED THEM IF THEY COULD SHOW UP LATER, THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD AN ATTITUDE!!! AN ATTITUDE?!?! FOR ASKING YOU TO DO YOUR JOB?!?! As a full-time law student, I depend upon people to do what they say they are going to do because my time is extremely limited – a fact that I had informed the owner of. I figured that, because the OWNER HIMSELF told me that his company would be there, the company would be there… BIG MISTAKE!!! DO NOT EMPLOY THESE RUDE, LAZY PEOPLE! SHOW THESE GUYS SOME ATTITUDE… DON’T GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!!
Update: So these guys went a deleted their Backpage.com ad where it proves that the are pimping out prostitutes (Angels angels). So I guess in that way we have had some sort of movement forward. But now these guys wish to initiate a liable campaign against me on Craigslist because I choose to expose their dirty, illegal activities. While they made progress forward in getting rid of their ad for prostitution they are now showing their immaturity and little intellect in attacking me. In this ad they call me “gay jae”. Seriously. How professional is this company really when they have to engage in small minded a frivolous acts as these. Is this what you would expect from a professional moving company? How would they treat you if you wrote a bad review of them to the BBB? How about just overall professionalism. They have already proven that they have no respect for the law, do you think that would have any regard for your personal possessions? Your call, but I would not that is for sure. Given half the chance I feel they would rob me blind.
Update: I found very disturbing news about the owners of this “moving company”. It seems they are nothing but lowlife moving scammers. But more importantly they are also pimping hookers. In looking on Backpage.com I came across one of their ads. It had a link to other ads that these pigs had placed on Backpage.com and it was an ad with pornographic pictures and an invitations to get these young ladies to do sex acts. You can go to the Backpage.com ad here…But I hope you don’t. Avoid this company at all costs.
Here is a company that I seen quite a bit. I remember last year I called this company to check on them and I had to call several times for them even to answer the phone. Also when they did answer it was an abrupt “movers”. No “hello” or any other professional type greeting.
Affordable Movers do have a website. Not a great website. In fact it is downright ugly…Does this reflect their overall professionalism?
One of the major things that I looked at was the fact that they claim to be licensed and insured. NO, they are not. I checked with the FMCSA and there is NO listing that they are licensed and insured.
In fact, they have none of their own moving trucks. So this makes them a moving labor company versus a full service moving company. Nothing wrong with that business model. But pretending to be a moving company when you are not is deceptive and unethical, and to top that off by falsely claiming you are licensed and insured in unthinkable.
They also claim that they have 40 years of moving experience. This again is lie. When I called I was told from their own mouths that they only had a few years of experience. They don’t even have 40 years of collective experience. Again another falsehood.
Additionally, these guys offer all types of services other than moving. Many of them unrelated to moving in general, which leads me to believe that they are just hustlers trying to swindle a buck.
They are in the Yellowpages. And that they have a website is definitely a step above your average movers. So this is a point in their favor.
They have no BBB report. After being in business as they claim of 40 years, you would have a BBB report. Because no matter hard you try you are bound to have at least one or two disgruntled customers. This is why I know that they haven’t been in business 40 years. So another lie exposed.
I have heard from customers that have called my moving company and have spoken with Affordable Movers that they are not as good as they think they are. While I have no first hand knowledge of them except for what I write here, I have heard horror stories of this company. So you can take that however you wish. While I loathe to spread rumors, the amount of comments I have gotten have led me to believe that there is something at the heart of the rumors.
I can not find any bad reports or good reports of Affordable Movers anywhere on the internet. And a company with supposedly “40 years of experience” there would have to be something.
Additionally, A company with that amount of experience you would have to expect some sort of community presence. News articles, interviews, their own professionally labeled trucks. But nope, nothing.
My opinion is that this company is a den of thieves just waiting for their next mark. I would never use this company personally, and certainly would not recommend this company to anyone.
You use this company at your own risk.
What I like about Affordable Movers:
- They are in the Yellowpages.
- They have a Google Maps listing.
- They have a website.
- They do have pictures on their website.
- They give references.
What I do not like about Affordable Movers:
- Falsely claim that they are licensed and insured.
- Falsely claim they 40 years of experience.
- Unprofessional phone greeting.
- Unprofessional image.
- Deceptively market themselves as a moving company v moving labor
- No community presence.
- No testimonials.
I hope that this moving company review of Affordable Movers was helpful to you.
Moving is stressful enough without moving scam companies trying to get into the fray. Be careful when choosing a moving company.
