I have seen Craigslist ads for JC Moving & Delivery a few times but I have never really checked them out. So I thought that I would indulge my readers and inform them of this company.
Here is the Craigslist as that I saw for them:
JC Moving and Delivery is a family owned business that has been around for 9 years. We are located locally in Davison and serve the Genesee county area as well as our surrounding area’s and states.
We currently are doing local moves for $75.00 an hour. This price includes all your insurance, taxes and fuel. We do not have any hidden fee’s. You will have 2 professional movers who will handle your items with care. You will find that our “price is comparable to moving yourself.”
We are federally licensed and insured. Also members of the Better Business Bureau and the Michigan Movers Association. You can find us on our web page at www.jcmovinganddelivery.com

Truly one of the better ads that are on Craigslist for moving companies. Not as good as mine (joke.) The only thing wrong with the ad itself is that they do not give their licensing info, which by law, they are required to do. However, with that being said I did want to state that they are licensed and insured properly with the State of Michigan. You can see that info here.
I like the ad for several reasons:
- It contains an actual name of the owner.
- It has their website
- And, it has an email
If this company were a scam company; none of that would have been divulged.
In their ad it has their website address, so I went to the website. Not a great website, but it is functional and clear. It is easily navigatable and you won’t get lost. I like that it has a few pictures of their actual truck and their trailer and even a picture of them with a flat screen TV. What I didn’t see are any testimonials from previous happy customers. If they added this to their website I would consider it a top notch website.
Their website states that the are part of the BBB. I looked this up and they are an accredited member of the BBB with an “A+” rating. They only had one (1) compliant with the BBB in the last 3 years and that was resolved. After being in business for 9 years having only one complaint is great.
They also state that they are part of the Michigan Movers Assoc. Again; this bear truthful. While not a big factor in the scheme of things, it does show that this company is serious about moving people and doing it ethically.
What i do not see is that this company is as visible as it could be. I.e. they are not on Facebook or Twitter or any other social media outlet. They should be. And except for a few ads here and there I do not see any real advertising for them. I assume they have a yellowpages ad. I have not looked but based what I saw I believe that this is a good bet.
One factor that does not bode well is that their drivers are above normal for unsafety. Per the government website their drivers are not very safe. Could be a lot of reasons for this, but it is an outpoint.
What I like about JC Moving & Deleivery:
- Longevity in the business
- Good, usable website
- They are licensed and insured
- They are members of the BBB and MMA
- They have there own moving vehicles.
What I do not like about JC Moving and Delivery:
- Unsafe drivers
- Unsafe Trucks
- No social media presence
- No testimonials or references
All in all I believe that this company is a good a reputable company. Would I recommend them? Absolutely! Are they scam company? No they are NOT.
